IRIS MINISTRIES BLOG

From Heidi, November 28, 2005

I want to thank you for your amazing response in prayer. While I was in the hospital God spoke to me about His desire for multiplication. I want to see God raise up an entire army of laid-down lovers who will carry His glory to the ends of the earth.

I believe Jesus will release a mass student volunteer mission’s movement to help bring the gospel to every tribe and tongue. A couple of weeks ago, I returned from an intense three-week conference tour during which God spoke to me about ministering to students at Ivy League Universities.

We went to Harvard University where the first great revival in America, The Great Awakening, once touched this nation. A young Harvard student named Matteus came up in our meeting and said, “I want to meet the God whom Heidi speaks of, but my mind is too strong.” So we prayed for him that his heart would become bigger than his mind. I called for one of the church leaders to come over and hug him. Father God wanted to hug him. Later I saw Matteus worshiping Jesus passionately with his hands shaking in the air. He was saying, “I feel God! I feel God! I feel God! He is so strong!”

I felt led to do an altar call for students who felt like orphan children. The Father spoke to me about His heart to heal the youth of America just like He has healed our Mozambican children. Students streamed forward. As soon as we embraced them, the Holy Spirit touched them and they began to weep. The aisles were full of weeping university students. Some were saved. Many were physically healed. Most of all, Jesus was worshiped yet again in the center of Harvard at Memorial Church!

Rolland and I finally had to leave around 2:00 a.m. since students had to go to class the next morning. As we closed the meeting, students were rolling down the marble stairs of Harvard, overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit. Another leader said to me, “You don’t understand. It has probably been decades since anything like this happened at Harvard University!”

God will release this army of obedient missionaries who will not love their lives even unto death. I remember Jim Elliot’s famous quote:
“He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep in order to gain what he cannot lose.”

Now I am thrilled to be home. We just had our yearly regional conference in the south at Zimpeto where hundreds of people were saved. There was a blind boy who had not seen anything for two years. He was instantly healed. His mother was overjoyed. The Lord spoke to me that there were ten women in the meeting who had severe back pain because of issues of unforgiveness. As soon as they came forward and repented, Jesus healed all ten. I also heard from the Lord that there was a deaf man there. I had to wait thirty minutes for him to come forward. (I guess someone had to tell him what I had said!) He was healed and told me that Jesus brought him to the meeting. Worthy is the Lamb!

We went to our base in Dondo for another conference, and God showed up in an extraordinary way. I was calling on the Holy Spirit to move upon the people when the He came like a whirlwind. People began to twirl around and fall to the ground. That night, more than we could count were healed. At the end of the last evening meeting, I hopped in the back of our pickup truck to get home, and some of our boys ran up to ask me to pray for a new youth living at our center. He was blind. The presence of God came upon him and he was healed. The youth were blessed beyond belief.

I had the best homecoming of all when I reached Pemba. The children were all at the airport singing and rejoicing with me for my miraculous healing! They had prayed and fasted for days believing for this miracle. What an awesome family we have. On outreach this week hundreds were saved! I so enjoyed praying for a young boy born deaf whose ears opened up!!! His father was beside himself with joy!!!

You are precious to me. Thank you again for praying for me, and for remembering the poor!

Much love in Jesus,
Heidi
