  • Christmas at our Maputo children's center is a huge event. Our simple decorations seem amazingly beautiful to these children from the streets, who have never seen such celebration. Jesus makes all the difference!
  • Late on Christmas Eve we turn out the lights and have a candlelight service, singing and worshiping with all our hearts.
  • On Christmas Day all our children received presents. These "shoebox" packages are sent to us by Samaritans Purse, all carefully and lovingly packed for different age groups. On this day we always start with our smallest children first!
  • Christmas dinner is extra-special. We splurge on chicken and soft drinks with happy and thankful hearts, and get ready for an evening of worship, skits, dances and special music.
  • Our little children get their own tables, and can eat all they want. It is a great joy to give them what Jesus has provided, and to let them know that our great God in heaven is their Father too.
  • We have a simple dirt soccer field, but our older teenagers get very good. Here is our center's team celebrating as champions of our Maputo soccer league. They have come a long way from boredom and hunger in the streets.
  • Here our children are listening intently to our Christmas program at our main Maputo children's center. They are part of a very warm and tight family!
  • In the remote Moslem villages of northern Mozambique, we show the Jesus film and preach on outreaches with visiting teams. Here Heidi is preaching in the dark with one small fluorescent lamp, with the face of Jesus being nailed to the cross still showing on the screen. Nearly all who hear come to Jesus immediately!
  • A call to salvation in the darkness of a country village where there is no electricity. We carry our own generator, and continue in heat and rain, wind and dust. Here the children in the front all want Jesus, along with the adults behind them. The Gospel had never been preached here before.
  • The Holy Spirit has been healing many deaf people this year through Heidi, and here she is laying her hands on another new believer.
  • Here a lady, deaf and dumb for years, is testifying to her healing to the crowd. In this way our churches have increased to well over 100 in this strongly Moslem province in 18 months.
  • We are adding simple dorm buildings for children to our Bible school and ministry center in Pemba, northern Mozambique. Moslems all over this area will see the light and love of Jesus.
  • Our students and pastors here are praying, resting and soaking up the love of God after one of Heidi's teaching sessions at our Zimpeto Bible school in Maputo.
  • In our simple mud-hut Bible school classroom in Dondo, central Mozambique, our students finish class on their faces before God, pressing toward their high calling in Him.
  • Here in Sunday church at our children's center in Zimpeto another young adult comes humbly before Jesus with open hands, ready to receive what only He can give.
  • Our young children come to the altar — just a cement floor — for more of Jesus and His mercy, grace, power and joy.
  • Heidi at the altar with our children, praying with each one that through their tears Jesus will be with them and bring them victory over every sorrow.
  • Heidi with a lady who had not walked in years, and who crawled to our church in the dump on her hands and calloused knees. Jesus touched her and she is walking! We found a stick to help her get her balance back.
